Research overview
Fluorine substitution affects molecular electronic structure, reactivity, and intermolecular interactions. We investigate regio- and stereoselective transformations of readily available fluorinated compounds as versatile starting points for functional molecule synthesis.
Our work includes addition–elimination reactions of fluorinated alkenes and perfluorocycloalkenes, fluorine–metal exchange, and cross-coupling approaches. These synthetic strategies provide access to molecular frameworks and substitution patterns relevant to luminescent materials, liquid crystals, and dyes.
