01 / OVERVIEW

Research overview

Liquid-crystalline behavior depends not only on molecular shape but also on polarity, intermolecular interactions, terminal groups, and flexible-chain design. We develop new mesogenic architectures based on fluorinated π-conjugated frameworks.

By systematically varying fluorine substitution, chain length, and terminal functionalities, including imidazole-containing groups, we investigate how molecular structure governs mesophase formation, phase transitions, and optical properties.
